"Breaking Bread and Borders"

Conversations about Food, Migration and Home. (Originally released on 5/16/2020 as a series by CT UndocuFund).

During the COVID 19 pandemic, organizations and elected representatives moved (or were urged to move) to provide supports. One of the huge gaps in care occurred in our undocumented populations. CT UndocuFund was a coalition built to bridge the gap; to ensure that while many were receiving stimulus checks, funds were also being collected and redirected to families ineligible for said services.

Another core strategy to the work was shifting deeply problematic narratives on immigration, shedding a realistic light on our shared experiences.

“Breaking Bread and Borders” is a series of conversations centering Black women with immigration stories. Originally released as a Facebook Live video in May, 2020. The first episode features Masem Enyong, Ebonie Goulbourne and Ms. Regina Dyton, it is hosted by Claudine Constant.

“Breaking Bread and Borders” was produced by Constanza Segovia, Varun Sharma & Patrick "Rico" Williams.
